Dorothy’s involvement with the art league starts with its beginning, and she has accumulated a treasure of photos, documents, and memories. She recalls the early art fairs and activities as they evolved over the years. Dorothy served as treasurer as the art league was organized, began a term as president in 1962, was acting president for several years, and helped keep the art league going when it was in danger of dissolving. Dorothy has had a lifelong interest in art. She is a member of an art group at Glenview Community Church that has met for 40 years. She has painted in several media and currently favors acrylics. She has exhibited at Lutheran General Hospital, Quaker Oats Gallery, Kraft, Walgreen’s, and area banks. Dorothy’s advice to artists is to paint as much as possible. Her experiences as an artist have broadened her perspective and heightened her awareness. We owe a lot to Dorothy’s active involvement in the Glenview Art League.
