Gloria Moschel

Whether painting exotic locations or a vista close to home, Gloria Moschel infuses her paintings with light and rich color. Traveling across five continents and photographing and drawing, she records fascinating subjects for her watercolor painting. Towns and villages, past civilizations and wild places illustrate a love of adventure, and the watercolor medium offers new and unexpected challenges. She explores the elusive quality of light unique to her chosen locations. A graduate of Northeastern Illinois University, Moschel studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and with renown artists such as: Seymour Rosofsky, Irving Shapiro, and Tim Clark. Passionate about teaching, she has taught art at high school and adult levels. She serves on the Boards of Wilmette Arts Guild and the Glenview Art League, and is a signatory member of the Illinois Watercolor Society. An Official U.S. Coast Guard artist, Moschel’s paintings depicting historic events have been exhibited at the Alexander Hamilton Customs House in New York City, in the U.S. Senate, for the Joint Chiefs, and in maritime museums. Actively promoting art to the community, she has exhibited extensively in solo and group shows. She is represented in private and corporate collections in the Americas and in Europe.
