Kittie Yohe has been painting watercolors for 38 years. She has exhibited in local art fairs and participated in both one woman and group shows. Her work is represented in many private collections. She is a member of the Glenview Art League and currently studies watercolor with artist Jean Poklop.
Kittie, now retired, was an art educator for 30 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Miami University and her Master’s degree in the same field from University of Illinois. Kittie lives in Northbrook with her husband Dennis and has two grown children.
Kittie paints a variety of subject matter, often botanical in nature. Her nature based paintings are completed in series, each emphasizing a theme. Recently Kittie has been experimenting with a synthetic Japanese paper, YUPO. In addition she often works with symbolism and text.
