Marilyn Jamora

MarilynsPortrait

Marilyn taught art in suburban public schools for over twenty years and continues to teach privately. She studied art at Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Paris, the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Illinois, the University of Wisconsin, and with many watercolor artists. She enjoys a variety of media but finds watercolor the most exciting and challenging. After retirement, Marilyn painted each of her grandchildren’s portrait. This love of watercolor portraiture has branched into painting commissioned portraits of people of all ages.

Her work is in many private collections in the United States and abroad. She displays her work in several art shows each year and has won a number of awards.

As a member of the Northbrook Arts Commission, Marilyn co-chairs the Artist Workshop series. She is a member of the Illinois Watercolor Society, the North Shore Art League, and the Glenview Art League. She and her husband live in Northbrook and share a studio in Chicago.
