2022 Youth Art Fair!
Let’s celebrate young artists at the 33rd annual YOUTH ART FAIR! We invite you to
participate in this fun one-day event, where the community comes together to appreciate the artwork of area young people. Free and open to grades twelve and younger on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Attea Middle School, 2500 Chestnut Ave. in Glenview.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
- Register – still spots open! Register in person at Attea between 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., 4/9
- Bring work between 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9
- View art fair: open to the public at 12:30 p.m., awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
- Pick up work before 3:30 p.m. on April 9
The fair is free and open to all students, preschool (and younger) through high school. Registration is required by March 26 and is limited to the first 200 applicants. Register online; by email at firstname.lastname@example.org; or postal mail at Glenview Art League, 1920 Waukegan Road, Glenview, IL 60025. Include the name, address, grade, school, email and phone contact, and type of art for each artist. Email confirmation will be sent. No same day registrations are accepted.
The 2022 Youth Art Fair is dedicated to the memory of Lee Mariani, a founding GAL member, 1922-2021.
GUIDELINES FOR ART
Each student may enter one piece of art no larger than 36″ by 36″ (including frame). Safety is our first priority and we cannot accept any art with sharp or protruding objects. Each piece of art should have the artist’s name on the back. Work must be dry. Mounting is recommended, not required. Work that does not meet these basic guidelines may be refused by the Art League. All entries must be the original work of the students.
ART DROP OFF
Bring art to (location) between 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 9. Be sure you have pre-registered. Be sure the work is labeled with the artist’s name and is suitable for display. Artwork must be picked up no later than 3:30 p.m.
The fair opens to the public at 12:30 p.m. All artists are encouraged to attend the fair. Prizes will be awarded at 2:30 p.m. Ribbons and awards will be given in each grade, plus Best in Show and the People’s Choice Award. Artist’s names will appear in the program. Each artist receives a certificate of participation, a chance to show their work on television (GVTV may cover the event), and the opportunity to view the work of their fellow artists. The winner of the Youth Art Fair is invited to participate in Glenview’s Summer Art Fair in July 30 and 31, 2022.
