135 artists shared work in the Youth Art Fair! We had an outstanding show with a wide variety of subjects and media including paintings in watercolor, acrylic, and oil, sculpture, drawings, photography and more. See list of awards below.

Let’s celebrate young artists at the 34th annual YOUTH ART FAIR! Join us for a fun one-day event, where the community comes together to appreciate the artwork of area young people. Free to enter, and free to attend! Open to artists grade twelve and younger. Enjoy live music. Awards for in all grade levels. New location this year: Glenbrook South High School, 4000 West Lake Ave., in Glenview, West Cafeteria (enter through doors O or OO).

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

  • Register online by February 15 (registration extended!)
  • Bring work to GBS at between 8:30-10:30 a.m. on the day of the event
  • View art fair: open to the public at 12 p.m., awards ceremony at 2 p.m.
  • Pick up work before 3 p.m. on the day of the event

EVENT DETAILS

The fair is free and open to all students, preschool (and younger) through high school. Registration is required by February  and is limited to the first 200 applicants. Register online; by email at glenviewartleague@att.net; or postal mail at Glenview Art League, 1920 Waukegan Road, Suite 204, Glenview, IL 60025. Include the name, address, grade, school, email and phone contact, and type of art for each artist. Email confirmation will be sent. No same day registrations are accepted.

GUIDELINES FOR ART

Each student may enter one piece of art no larger than 36″ by 36″ (including frame). Safety is our first priority and we cannot accept any art with sharp or protruding objects. Each piece of art should have the artist’s name on the back. Work must be dry. Mounting is recommended, not required. Work that does not meet these basic guidelines may be refused by the Glenview Art League. All entries must be the original work of the students.

ART DROP OFF

Bring art to Glenbrook South High School (Door O or OO) between 8:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 4. Be sure you have pre-registered. Be sure the work is labeled with the artist’s name and is suitable for display. Artwork must be picked up no later than 3 p.m.

AWARDS CEREMONY

The fair is open to the public at 12 p.m to 2:30 p.m. Live music provided by Christopher Laughlin School of Music. All artists are encouraged to attend the fair. Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. Ribbons and awards will be given in each grade, plus Best in Show. Artist’s names will appear in the program. Each artist receives a certificate of participation, a chance to show their work on television (GVTV may cover the event), and the opportunity to view the work of their fellow artists. The winner of the Youth Art Fair is invited to participate in Glenview’s Summer Art Fair in July 22 and 23, 2023.
