Thursday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m., in the Glenview Public Library
The GAL welcomes Elizabeth McKenna to share techniques in conceptual/abstract mixed-media painting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Glenview Public Library. Elizabeth McKenna has created art since early school. Having studied Art History at Lake Forest College and interned at Sotheby’s, Elizabeth’s appreciation of art has been lifelong. While mostly self-guided, she has taken several classes at the North Shore Art League and continues to refine her style and technique. Mixed-media projects demand the viewer take a second look – go beyond the surface to see a deeper meaning. Layers of paint create depth, and the use of symbols and shapes intersect in her work. Bright and energetic, her recent show, “Love & Psyche” includes a series of paintings and mixed media artworks evoke emotion – happiness and excitement.
