Advancing the study and development of fine art in our community, and serving the needs of Glenview-area artists for more than 60 years.

Margaret Newman

Art, books, and reading have always sustained me throughout my life. I started working in clay in the early sixties when my four kids didn’t take up all my time.  I had some success selling my work in shops and at art fairs, but after a lifestyle change, it became more difficult to do all the heavy work involved with ceramics, so I turned to painting after taking a class with Jim Krauss, Professor at Oakton Community College. I paint from what inspires me, the world around me, my inner vision just to keep from getting too crazy.
