Elizabeth Waddington (GAL Member) is Our Demo Artist February 4th, 2020
Elizabeth Waddington, lives, gardens, and paints in McHenry IL. She has grown every flower that she has painted and paints to honor all the things she most admires about flowers… their shape, luminescence and color. Her goal is to capture their soft aura and sprightly compositions and she never tires of her subjects. Elizabeth uses watercolor to capture the luminescent quality of leaves and blossoms. By creating two paintings simultaneously, she can collage them together later and re-compose the scene. Elizabeth uses a technique called monoprint where she paints directly on a piece of glass, straight from the tube, very thick, with lots of color. She thoroughly wets her 300lb paper and presses the painted glass to the paper. There is enough paint on the glass to press on to yet another piece of paper. Then the magic happens! The Pigment, paper and water blend to make a lovely aura of paint that she can move and blend. You do not want to miss this demonstration! http://ewaddington1.wix.com/lizpaint
