GAL Demo featuring Millicent Kennedy Tuesday, February 8, at 7 p.m., online

The Glenview Art League welcomes Millicent Kennedy to demonstrate fiber and book arts on February 8, at 7 p.m. online.

Kennedy’s art practice collaborates with storied materials and time through performance, fiber, and book arts. The themes explored in her work often revolve around labor, desire and loss.

Kennedy co-curates at Parlour and Ramp Gallery in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago and has served as the Gallery Director at Rockford University, She currently teaches at Evanston Art Center and Lillstreet Art Center. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern Illinois University and her MFA from Northern Illinois University where she was awarded the Helen Merritt Fellowship. She’s received solo exhibitions from SXU Art Gallery, Roman Susan and Parlour and Ramp, as well as site specific installations with Terrain Exhibitions Biennial, and Purple Window Gallery.

The Glenview Art League hosts six art demos each year, usually on the first Tuesday of the month in September, October, November, February, March and May. These demonstrations are free and open to the public, and ADA accessible. See the GAL website for more details.
