The Glenview Art League and the Glenview Public Library proudly present the 6 x 6 Small Canvas Community Art Exhibition! All fifty works of art will be on display at the Glenview Public Library from September 17 to November 6. Click here to see the paintings here on our website. First place with a $100 prize goes to Lee Colpi. Second place with at $50 prize is awarded to Susan Mart, and third place with a $25 prize goes to Sandra Hart. Note: prizes will be mailed.

This first-time community art event celebrates the library’s 90th anniversary. Participants picked up a free six-inch canvas in July. Any medium could be used on the canvases, which were due back on September 5. Fifty paintings were received, spanning a wide range of styles from realistic to symbolic and abstract. All were inspired by the event theme: Reading is Timeless.

Lou Pierozzi served as event judge. Pierozzi is a ceramist, Chair of Art and Design and also a Professor of Art at Oakton Community College. Many thanks to him for his expertise. And thanks to all the artists who shared their skill and creativity in this event.

The Glenview Art League promotes the study and development of fine art in our community. Artists and supporters of the arts are welcome to become members. The public is invited to participate in regular art challenges and demos (currently online). Find out more at www.glenviewartleague.org.
