The GAL welcomes Heidi Andersen to share techniques in watercolor painting at 7 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 1, at the Glenview Public Library. Heidi has worked with watercolor for the last 20 years. She has had individual exhibitions in the U.S., Denmark and Mexico, and has participated in more than 90 juried and open exhibitions, winning several awards in abstract and figurative painting.
Finding joy and freedom in the painting process and considering painting a journey of discovery, Heidi works to achieve spontaneity and transparency in the watercolor medium. A continued fascination with pigments and their unique behavior inspire her to paint abstract landscapes while the unpredictability of watercolor results in dramatic floral expressions. The GAL hosts art demonstrations throughout the year. These events are free and open to the public.
