Angela Murphy
As an interior designer for nearly two decades, I’ve shaped how people experience space — but my creative journey began long before that, rooted in a lifelong connection to nature.  From childhood, I was captivated by the play of light on water, the curve of a petal, the texture of bark — details that continue to inform my work today. I’m inspired by nature’s calm resilience and its wild, uncontained beauty.
My artwork is layered and dimensional, playing with depth and perspective to draw the viewer in, inviting them to move closer, to look longer, and to become an active participant in the experience rather than a distant observer. My art often reaches beyond its borders, pushing past the edges of the frame as if it cannot be contained, much like nature itself in all its wildness and movement.
Working primarily in watercolor and ink, I enjoy exploring the dialogue between structure and spontaneity and embracing the unpredictability. Watercolor and ink allow me to balance control with surrender, echoing nature’s rhythm of order and flow. Like nature, my creative process is organic, evolving, and ever in motion.
